Center-left party PASOK has lodged a harsh critique of Supreme Court decision to dismiss the latest lawsuits in the ongoing “Predatorgate” Spyware Scandal.
Deputy Prosecutor of the Supreme Court, Achilleas Zisis, dismissed the suits on Wednesday on the grounds of insufficient evidence–stating that the individual whose bank card paid for phishing messages which contained the Predator malware, was not connected to the case “since a third party made use of the card and charged it.”
The Deputy Supreme Court Prosecutor ruled that the accused has no proven links to the companies that sell Predator, or any individuals within Greece’s National Intelligence Service (EYP).
“The decision of the Supreme Court to dismiss the case of the prepaid card used to pay for the Predator-infected messages is another link in the chain of cover-up,” wrote PASOK in a statement after the decision was announced.
PASOK president Nikos Androulakis was one of the plaintiffs. Androulakis filed a lawsuit in November 2024, seeking further investigation into who was behind attempts to infect his phone with Predator malware in 2021.
