Last fall, the Journal of Commerce breakbulk and project cargo team began asking a wide range of breakbulk industry members – cargo shippers, carriers, project forwarders, port and terminal operators and other service providers — for the one word that best described the “vibe” of the project cargo market and expectations into 2025. As revealed in our word cloud graphic, favorite terms included “challenging,” “volatile,” and “opportunity,” but the clear standout when all answers were combined was “exciting.” At our April conference, we’ll discover if these expectations held as 2025 unfolded.
