Hapag-Lloyd and Sri Lanka Ports Authority explore strategic collaboration

Representatives from the German shipping company Hapag-Lloyd met with Sri Lanka Port Authority (SLPA) officials on 4 March to discuss collaboration opportunities and strengthen existing ties.

During the discussions, both parties emphasized the importance of fostering stronger partnerships to further position Sri Lanka as a strategic maritime hub in the region. The dialogue also focussed on upcoming industry developments and Hapag-Lloyd’s ongoing commitment to improving service standards and sustainable shipping practices.

The collaboration between Hapag-Lloyd and SLPA is expected to enhance efficiency, increase cargo handling capacity, and improve connectivity within South Asia’s shipping network.
