The Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis made his first customary Sunday
The Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis made his first customary Sunday post on his Facebook account for 2025, referring to his government’s most recent activities and achievements, made a personal commitment for the New Year.
“The government’s work will remain intense and multifaceted, so that day by day, something changes and the lives of all citizens become better,” the prime minister stated.
In his post, Mitsotakis initially referred to tax and burden reductions, as well as measures to support citizens’ incomes, noting that with the start of the New Year, workers and pensioners will see improved earnings and reduced contributions, while professionals will benefit from a reduction in the special tax.
He made reference to a total of 18 tax and burden reductions, as well as 7 income support measures, to be implemented in 2025 which will boost citizens’ disposable income. These support measures, are set to target primarily low-income pensioners who are former EKAS beneficiaries, who will be exempt from the pharmaceutical expenditure contribution.
Other measures include the doubling of property tax (ENFIA) reductions from 10% to 20% for residential properties of individuals, provided they are insured against natural disasters. Mitsotakis also noted that doctors’ on-call shifts will be
