Nordic Yards Group seals €110m shipbuilding deal with Belgium’s DAB Vloot

Nordic Yards Group, a joint venture between Estonian shipbuilding company Baltic Workboats (BWB) and Uudenkaupungin Työvene,has signed a €110m shipbuilding contract with the Belgian government.

Nordic Yards Group sealed the deal with the Belgian state enterprise DAB Vloot with the aim to design and build an 80-meter pilot station vessel.

Uusikaupunki-based Työvene, a Finnish shipbuilding company and part of Summa Defence Ltd said in a social media post on LinkedIn that the price of one vessel is €54.4m whilst the deal comes with an option for a second vessel.

Specifically, the construction period -which will last 42-months- includes an option for a second equivalent vessel.

The total transaction volume is up to €110m, according to shipbuilder Työvene.

Juha Granqvist, Työvene CEO, said: “Securing this tender alongside Baltic Workboats is a significant achievement that highlights the value of our strong partnership. With over 60 years of combined expertise and nearly 500 specialized vessels built, we have established a robust foundation for undertaking projects of this scale.”
